18mm Torlon® 4203 plectrum (one-of-a-kind)
This is the most expensive and technical plectrum I've ever created, pushing the limits of extreme materials into a single pick!
This 18mm plectrum is made out from 2 sheets of Torlon® 4203 and a center strip of my 90% concentration exclusive HufGlow material. I also came up with a solution to create perfectly seamless joints between the materials. Over 100euro worth of raw materials + 2 hours of work goes into creating this unique pick!
I originally designed this HUGE pick back in 2010 for a player who had his hand shattered in an accident and could therefore not close it properly anymore. This giant pick helped him play guitar again. This is what originally inspired my current 'ANVIL plectrum' designs!
Torlon® 4203 (it's purest form), technically known as 'PAI' (polyamide-imides) is the highest performing thermoplastic which can be found on the top of the pyramid of performing bearing grade engineering plastics. This also makes it the most expensive of all. Torlon plectrums are my original invention, I was the first to introduce this amazing material for building plectrums back in 2011 and I am the first guitar builder to be using it for creating guitar nuts! Economy of motion + more playing strength = less playing effort!
My plectrums are much thicker than the norm. The idea is to minimise movement and increase the guitarist’s hand strength. Less effort is required to play, which is a relief to the player. As a result, he will have less cramping and tenseness, which is very useful for guitarists suffering from osteoarthritis, tendinitis or other muscular problems. Naturally, this is also very interesting for the adventurous guitarist who has none of these problems, because this bio-mechanical phenomenon can help him obtain more precision, strength and speed too!
